Committees
Codes Committee**
Examines and makes recommendations on potential code changes and agency interpretations of building codes, fire and life safety, ADA, seismic regulations, SDC’s and other state and local agency regulations impacting building owners and managers. This committee deals with highly technical concepts and issues and requires a unique membership.

Emerging Professionals Committee*
Emerging Professionals is building a community for CRE Emerging Professionals through networking. The committee aims to plan four networking events for the Emerging Professionals each year. The networking group is for new professionals (0-5 years in the CRE industry) to connect to one another and build relationships with others in the group.
Meetings: Second Tuesday of every month. 2:00-3:00 PM.
Events Committee
The Event Committee is tasked with developing several events every year such as the Reverse Trade Show, Golf and Expo. The Committee will be asked to assist with other events such as the PAC Fundraiser, Sponsor Appreciation Event, Award events and others as requested by the President and Executive Director. With the assistance of BOMA staff, the group will fundraise for all events as well. The Committee will develop a draft budget for potential events the following year. The Chair will present the recommendations to BOMA Staff and Treasurer for the draft budget by August 1st of every year.
Meetings: Third Wednesday of every month. 2:30-4:00 PM. Additional meetings might be required from time to time and at event locations.
Finance Committee*
The finance committee was established to review all things financial concerning the association including financial reports, budgets, audits, and investments.

Government Affairs Committee
BOMA Oregon’s Government Affairs Committee meets with those who propose or decide public policy, analyzes existing or proposed legislation and/or regulations to determine the impact on BOMA members, and recommends for BOMA Board approval what position the association should take on such matters. The committee also recommends to the board where PAC money should be distributed.
Meetings: Last Tuesday of every month. 2:00 PM-3:00 PM.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is being established to recognize and reach out to potential new members as well as identify opportunities and needs of our existing members. The scope of this committee will include creating new member onboarding materials, developing/updating, marketing materials, and working with BOMA staff to put out the annual directory. Dive into dues structure and create recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Meetings: 2nd Monday of each month. 10:30-11:30 AM.
Programs Committee
The Programs Committee develops continuing education seminars each year relevant to the commercial property professional for which clock hours are earned for OREA. This committee promotes Building Engineer skills training, markets education classes & seminars, and promotes sustainability and energy efficiency education. Classes are to be hosted by Allied Members. $1,500 a meeting.
Meetings: Monthly. Last Wednesday of each month. 2:30-4:00 PM.
Other Committees
The below committees have not yet been formed. If there are enough volunteers, we plan to form them this year:
Allied Committee: Specifically focus on the needs and concerns of our Allied members.
Education Committee: focus on certifications/work with BOMI for RPA, CCMP, FMA, and SMA. Put on Foundations of Real Estate Management course.
